I agree we need a distraction during this terrible time.
Our Steve is a very pleasant distraction.
As I recall, reviews for Journey were seldom good. They always attacked them for the same reason as your review. They sounded the same....the songs were too sentimental.
I think it was a struggle for the band from ESCAPE on. In fact, Neal says in a recent interview, what he cant get over is Journey is getting great reviews on the ARRIVAL album, and no one is buying it.
Journey has never been appreciated to the level they should in the rock and roll scheme of things.
