I suppose you're right. We've blatantly reached out 'clubbing capacity' here in Hull - the minute a new venue opens another simply loses part of the distinctly finite number of potential customers available. Just look at LA's & Pozition: the success of a night at one venue has ultimately led to the decay of nights at the other.

Despite this, there are areas where you can't avoid pointing the finger of blame at the citizens of Hull themselves. How many new enterprises have to fail before our stagnant, dated consumer base deide to try something new? It's a generalisation, but one supported by the statistics of buiness ventures failing here and becoming incredibly successful around the rest of the country. I'd hate it to happen, but how likley do you think the scenario where the new shop you were talking about on this board actully becomes a success and lasts more than 6 months? Maybe I'm wrong. Obersvational experience tells me I'm not though. Local governent and their influence on the city's infrastructure obviously play a large part; however, the power of the corporation seems to superceed this, and ultimatley our future lies in the hands of the people who feed the economy, and that's us, the citizens that live here. Business attracts business. Success creates success. And stagnation, unfortunatley, creates more stagnation.

Depressing, boring, uninspired. Irrelevant of any moral sensibilities, I'll have to agrree with Killswitch Engage. This place sucks, big style!
