N’kat nearly fell to his knees with the strength of the bronze’s mind upon him. His mind swirled, and his eyes watered. Suddenly, he couldn’t see normally; half his vision was of earth-bound sight, the other of air. He could feel their wings beat with a vengance, yet could feel his hands reach up to support his aching head. Then, he lost connection with the earth-bound sight, lost the feeling of his hands on his temples. The air as it whipped past his hide and the powerful downstroke of his wings enveloped the dragon-and-rider, and the earthen body visibly changed. Eyes sparkled with a longing, and his hands fell from his face. There was a slight crouch in his posture, and he seemed to forget that he was deathly afraid of the moment. The truth was, he wasn’t afraid of the moment; he was excited! He was finally to be tested by the greatest of all Golds, the Queen of Queens, and he would follow til the end!

N’kat-Verealth gave a strong downstroke of their mighty wings, and they propelled up into the air. Many-faceted eyes whirled as they stared to the Gold, the only thing those orbs could ever hope to look at. His gaze was that of a longing and determination , filled with so many other emotions that ripped tfrom his throat in a scream, meant to meet the Gold’s challenge. He would follow her, and he would catch up to her, and do what she wished! For whatever else could he want, if not to please his wondrous Queen?

*And all the choices that I make…*

Spinning slightly, the bronze flew at speeds faster than he ever before imagined, turning expertly to keep the Gold in view. Then, she was gone! He stopped sharply, and looked around, eyes whirling. Where was she? Where was his soveregin, his Queen?
Calming down, he knew he must find her, follow her, or something terrible would happen! He glanced around, and felt the flow of the wind. He could feel how it drifted, feel how it broke away from its normal path when there was a large obsticle… that was it! If he could trace the wind…?

Flying about, Verealth made an educated-guess to where she’d gone. He felt the caress of the wind, and closed his eyes, allowing the sweet coolness to envelope him. He felt the currents, and measured the approximate distance of objects that stopped the even flow of air. After a moment, a strange wind-pattern came to him, and his eyes shot open. There! She was a little above him and to the right, in a large cloud. He gave a shriek of happiness; he could follow her now! He rocketed up towards the figure of the Gold, screaming to her, willing her to give the next challenge.

*Won’t end up all for nothing…*
