Subject: Purple Poems

You said fun? Well, I'm having fun, so come what may. Here's a couple:

Purple Marble Cake

When Iggie was found dead,
you thought how to console me,
and invention being your clever gift,
you calmly proceeded:

“Give me an hour, then come over.
Bring this friend, and that one, and you’ll see.
We’ll have fun.”

I remember the surprise as you unveiled
your creation. A purple marble cake.
A girl does not lose an Iggie every day,
but on this day, when I took a bite,
it tasted...purple.

Purple Magic Girl

When Jenny first came over,
she didn’t stand out from the others.
Not really.
With their Orange hair, Black hair,
Green hair, No hair, Long hair,
Uncombed hair, Sideways hair,
Sky-high hair, hair was all around,
and notice became colorblind.

When Jenny first came over,
I was not aware of her Purple hair;
But in time,I noticed the depth of her seagreen eyes,
her walk as she floated an inch above ground,
a dozen silky threads in her voice,
the fluid charm of her kind heart.
And every once in a while, for grins,
she scattered Cocoa Puffs on the kitchen floor.

She was, indeed, a Purple magic girl.
