Marco is a contact of mine who had been attacked by a white shark off
Carmel, California (he had avoided possible extensive injury when a
navigational computer mounted to his waist and his scuba tank had
"broken" the white's bite, so to speak):

Treasure Hunt!

Hi Everyone:

Over 14000 feet below the ocean, at the bottom of the mid-atlantic.
That's where I found myself last December, mapping the sea floor from
inside a russian deep sea submersible, looking for gold!

It was a treasure hunt, and the treasure hunters (Cape Verde
Explorations) had hired our company to build a precision navigation
system, to guide the survey. This being a treasure hunt, there was
plenty of adventure, technical challenges, plenty of intrigue, 'imminent

danger', and at times more than a good share of plain silliness as well
;).

This Saturday (Sep 11), it will be all on television:

Watch 'The search for I-52', a National Geogrphic Special, on your local

NBC station saturday at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

And if you miss it, don't despair:

There will also be an article in the October issue of National
Geographic Magazine. It's called 'The last dive'.

Hope y'all will have a lot of fun watching it.

Greetings,

Marco
