The following is another post by Captain Tom King:

Here are some clues from e- mails. Names withheld to protect the
conspirators of silence.

#1 POST -Yesterday another big mako was caught off our coast. This one
was 11'5" TL
and weighed in at 1,109.48 pounds. The "girth" was measured as
72", though
I'm not sure on what part of the shark this measurement was
taken.

The internal organs were saved and I will get them (along with
those from
the last fish) to Dave Holts in San Diego. This fish has not
made the news
media yet (thank god).

As far as I know it is a female, though the fisherman could not
accurately
describe if it was. I'll know when I get the organs and see the
photos.
There is video of the entire fight, with the fish jumping 18
times. Its
stomach was empty, though it likely regurgitated its contents
during the
capture.

#2 POST-All I can tell you guy is it's for real.

#3 visit Henry Mollets site @
http://www.mbay.net/~mollet/Io/Io_large.html
take a look at shark #26 before it disappears.

#4 .it was caught off the SBI at Osborn Bank by the Lucky
Juanita....I understand it weighed 1,109 lbs...boy what a lucky
catch. He took his fish to weight in at Dana Point so it should be
safe there, unlike Tommys.(The people at Dana point deny weighing in
the fish- Capt. Tom) My first thought was well there goes Tommy Brooks
record.. -

(Capt. Tom here, The Tommy Brooks referred to is the angler in this news
clip) -From the San Jose Mercury:Redondo Beach (AP) --A local fisherman
has a story to tell about the one that didn't get away. And he's got 986
pounds of mako shark to prove it. The 10.5-foot long mako -- deep water
makos average between 6 and 8 feet long -- was hauled in about 18 miles
off of the Southern California)

Capt. . Tom again. All kinds of press and commotion for the 986 pounder
but silence on the 1,109 pounder.
Don't tell me a liberal, shark hugging conservationist , preservationist
POLITICIAN caught that fish. What's the story????- Tom
