the criminal justice community is in reality a pretty small world so I can say that NO they dont take it very seriously, they only act on something like that if they are pressured to do something by political power, or its an open and shut slam dunk case ,if its not they dont squander their limited resources on it when they have much more pressing crimes to act on

even selling it does not spark much interst within the FBI, their primary intersts are interstate kidnappings, Federal hate crimes, and terrorism
