You're welcome Stewart! :)
I'm glad you liked the vid's!

You sound like my middle son - finding bits and pieces / here and there (at Goodwill, thrift shops, yard sales...)
- then, building/re-building all sorts of audio/visual "contraptions" for "pennies on the dollar."

But, you're a little more current than myself in regards to the ipod. I still have a turntable! :)

Whenever I stop by Goodwill, I always try to make a quick survey of the books too!
I have numerous books by "Dr. Seuss" - except I'm still looking for "Horton Hears a Who" ! :)
*** attempting to assemble a "mini library" for my classroom ...
- if and when I become a teacher?! :)

the other night - in addition to finding the Beatles vid - I found a "very cool" book ...
- for less than $3
" ... the McGuffy's reader of wine books" ...
- "Complete Wine Course" written by Kevin Zraly! :)

The Beatles book sounds "very cool" too!
I'll have to get a copy of that one for myself!
- BC :)

I always hit up the books at Goodwill. In fact about 70% of my 800+ book classroom library came from a Goodwill store somewhere in the country. BC, I still have not found Horton Hears a Who at Goodwill. I'll keep an eye out for a copy.

I love that clip from Back to the Future! The first movie in the series was truly the best.

Thanks Heather!
800 books?!
That's quite an extensive library for a classroom in my opinion - "very cool"! :)

re: Back to the Future ...
I think it would be fun to go back in time like "Marty" and see what my own parents were like in high school! :)

My daughter just said she thinks there's a tornado warning in central Florida?! I hope you're ok!

[> [> [> [> [> Crazy FL weather -- HeatherM, 21:27:56 01/25/11 Tue

Everything is okay in my neck of the woods. There may be some tree limbs down, but I won't be able to see the full extent of any damage until the morning when the sun comes up. It poured for about an hour. We had lots of thunder and lightning. It looked much worse on the weather radar, at least for Deltona. The power kept going off and on, but did not stay off for more than a minute at a time. The wind was cazy though. Some areas had wind gusts over 60MPH...YIKES!!! I'm glad I was home and not at school. The playground will probably be a huge pile of mud tomorrow. So, we may just stay inside and have more time for 100th day fun.

800 books...oh yeah! They have all kinds of categories to choose from (neighborhood, fiends, vehicles, weather, seasons, animals (fiction and nonfiction are separate), numbers, ABCs.....etc. We have author and series bins too. At least 30 are from Dr. Seuss. About 10 Laura Numeroff (If you give a mouse....)Clifford books coming out of my ears. The kids have access to most of the books, but I have a collection that I use for specific lessons and those books stay with me.

Your library sounds awesome Heather!
While observing a first grade classroom last semester, - when given a choice by their teacher - the students voted to have her read a book aloud to them rather than have time to play computer games! :) Which I thought was "very cool"! :)

re: the weather I'm glad you're OK! I hope Nancy is alright too! I'm up kinda early myself to check on the weather here in TN. Looking out my window - since I began typing it has changed from rain to snow. We may be using our last "snowday" today?!
