Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmm Stewart's girls got the traveling feet!
Glad to hear you made it home safely. I told ya so.
I'm parked for the night somewhere between Portland and home.
Saw my sister and her family. Had a good time. Just love her kids and the boys are so funny!
Ron was working up at Timberline Lodge years ago and Clint Eastwood came in for gas. He saw Ron kinda checking him out and he said, "Do you know who I am?"
Ron says, "Yeah. Your Clint Eastwood.
Clint asked him if he wanted his autograph and Ron says, "No. Do you want mine?"
They're my boys!
Hmmm Wanna become a part of the family? JR is his older brother, 52 retired Navy, going back to college Baptist boy. You guys would be kinda cute together... and then I'd be your Auntie Laura. Nope none of my nieces and nephews call me "Auntie" we're too close in age for that. They call me "Your majesty."

Just kidding,
LauraG

Chris and Jason were working, so ...
Yep! You guessed it! :6
But, like I told you ...
after this week, the "bar" has been set way too high to ever go back again! I promise! :)

Thank you again for everything!
with love from, BC :)

[> [> School plans -- We3Kings, 20:45:45 07/25/10 Sun

I hear ya, BC. No worries. I was looking more late fallish or Christmas--We own at Wyndham and have a ton of points we need to use this year. I was thinking the kids and I would go up your way possibly then. We will see. Or next summer is fine if that workds for you.

We start homeschool in a week or so. I found this WONDERFUL three book system that teaches #1 what was going on in history the same time as literature around the world, and what was going on in the Bible during that time. The first book is Creation to Resurection. So it teaches Egyptian, Greek, Roman History and at the same time you learn where that fits in the Bible. Fascinating! The kids are really excited about it.

I know I took a class in college on the History of Rome. I really learned a lot in that class about the Bible and why Paul did things like he did and why Pilate did not just convict Jesus outright. Why did he send him over to the other governor and not just convict him outright? etc etc etc. Or why did Joseph take everyone to Egpyt when Jesus was born and not another country. Other than being instructed angelically to do so, there are historical reasons.

I am also teaching Spanish to the kids and to others this year: primary and intermediate level. While Jed is learning IMMERSION mandarin chinese. He loves the language and I am excited about this new step.

Jed is already working on his history project-Edison. We visited his lab in Michigan as well as his boyhood home in Port Huron. Did you know he was almost deaf. Not only that, but he instructed his girlfriend how to read and send morse code. When he was sure she understood him, he proposed to her by tapping on her hand in Morse Code-"Will you marry me?"

We aer also starting Chemistry this year. YEAH!!! We found the worlds most awesome book on elements on clearance at Barnes and Nobles. What makes this book so neat is that it is a 10 x 10 book and each two page spread shows the element name and name on the left hand page with a picture of the actual element. Then on the right side are pictures of things the element is used for, as well as a description of how it was discovered, named and other neat facts about it. "The Elements -A visual Exploration of Every Known Atom in the Universe"-by Theodore Gray.
