Thanks for the smile, Goktimus - just working through "Stupid White Men" at the moment, a book by Michael Moore. He paints a rather scathing picture of George W and his crowd and while I don't agree with all of what he says, one point made in his introduction is frightening: in the aftermath of September 11th his publishers refused to release the book until (and I quote): "We can't release the book as it is written. The political climate of the country has changed. We would like you to consider rewriting up to 50 percent of the book...removing the harsh references to Bush and toning down your dissent." Truly frightening words. Mr Moore points out that, at a time when the American way of life was under active and sustained attack, his publishers were doing just what the terrorists wanted - curtailing that same way of life by barring his right to free expression.

That said, Mr Moore has also written to Kofi Annan asking for UN intervention in the United States, since in his opinion the 2000 presidential election has proven that the US cannot hold free and fair elections and therefore cannot be said to govern itself effectively, so I leave how legitimate you find Moore's opinion up to you. ;-)
