*Been a while since I've been here, school and other concerns (like trying to get a new car for my grandmother)limited time so with that in mind on to the post...*

I'm going to have to borrow Moore's book from the library, it sounds like a fasinating read.

>>"We can't release the book as it is written. The political climate of the country has changed. We would like you to consider rewriting up to 50 percent of the book...removing the harsh references to Bush and toning down your dissent." << Not only is it frightening,it's happened before. During WWI and WWII newspapers and other publication were not allowed to publish anything remotely against the Presidential administration. Mind you it was war time, and in some peoples mind were still at war right now."War on Terror".

I suppose in some way I can see the business reasoning behind the publisher wanting to have part of the book rewritten. If the climate did indeeed change as much as they believed it had then they may have felt that the book would not turn a profit, ie: No money for them. Everyone who is in publishing is in it to make business, regardless of what they claim, money is a very big factor in the lives of most publishers. However I agree with Fawndoo in that the idea of the whole idea of them wanting a rewrite to cover their hides incase of being considered...is the word disentent...by the goverment and the public at large is revolting.

On the issue of the US not being able to run a true election and having the court decide, I think that's a bit distressing. Although this isn't the first time something like this has happened in elections, I believe the court made a ruling for a state election or two, though I wouldn't go as far to say that the US cannot run free and fair elections. Compared to other elections it was pretty tame, and luckily we have one more year before we can change the Exectutive branch of govement.
