Perhaps one of the sadder things about Western culture is that we give a lot of lip service to "diversity", but when faced with a person or culture that is unfamiliar we're too busy being judgmental to actually start appreciating the differences. Most Westerners are still too arrogant to handle the idea that others are different from them, and that in spite of that fact they seem to get along just fine.
