Perceptor, we're discussing the difference between two date formats.

Surely hardly a major cause for concern from a cross-cultural viewpoint, nor even a particularly interesting representation of diversity in action.

Your points are valid, but I'm not sure where they fit into this discussion.

And I'd add that as we're discussing the difference between Britain and Australia, and the USA, all are examples of Western culture.
