I forget the year ... I'm sure someone else here might remember ... but about 30 or so years ago, there was a semifinal match between the two countries. Argentina won, 1-0; the goal was scored an Argentine player's arm, and was not disallowed. (Remember this the next time you complain about officiating against your favorite team.)

Three words sum this whole thing up: "Hand of God"


I suppose they're closer to even, now.
