"("Dr Who" used to fill this role, but that was a long time ago now)"

Ahhhh yes, good 'ol Doctor Who, appearance on which is probably absent on many actors CVs. Besides Icon, Eastenders offers a similar function as well - at least Casualty and Doctor Who are/were watchable! (least said about the Bill the better)

This is slightly unrelated, but what struck me in thinking about this is the number of celebrities who have died with a less-than-auspicious project as their last ever appearance. Look at Jon Pertwee - much-loved actor, Worzel Gummidge and Doctor Who for a generation, who died after doing a Vodafone advert, or Raul Julia, who shuffled off after completing Streetfighter of all things. Orson Welles did Transformers: The Movie then snuffed it (he became an ex-director) but since it's TFTM, that one counts as cool! :-)

I wonder how many other actors/actresses have had distinguished careers and then died after completing something truly awful? (and please, whoever out there might be reading this, don't try to represent the Streetfighter movie as anything approaching half decent!)
