"Should they try to bring the UN on side?

To use an American colloqialism: Well duh!"

I know it seems to be an obvious question with an equally obvious answer, but the Bush Administration is not known for its predictability, to indulge in a little understatement. From some of the news reports over the past few weeks the possibility of the US trying to go it alone and launching a strike without any other support was not one that was easy to dismiss. I am glad to see that, as you put it, cooler heads are now prevailing and talk of a new UN resolution is being put on the table.

Duh, indeed........ :-)
