In reference to my earlier statement and how it relates to that presenter: Yes, his bias reflects badly on all Americans, no, it's not fair, but yes, I expect that many from the eastern side of the pond allowed that to color their impression of Americans, not because they're morally inferior, but because that's human nature. Just as certain comments from a certain German Cabinet member probably colored American perceptions of Germany.

"I do not have a comic book view on foreign policy. Let me tell you, people - this is a fight of good against evil!"

As a rallying cry, that can be effective. But you got to make sure you're clearly in the right and your opponent is so clearly in the wrong. Even though we aren't perfect, we do pretty much have that against al-Qaeda and the Taliban. I will take the Bush Administration over Saddam's government anytime anyplace anywhere, something has to change before we have that with Iraq.
