If you read the books that are associated with the movies, you can see the growing change in Anikin. Especially the new Approching storm novel. There is a Prequel novel to the First movie that actually gets into Vallorum. And the Approching storm gets deeper into the relationship between Ben and Ani.

However while I disagree that Anikin needs to be more of a Han Solo, I think there still should be a disbeliver, some one that can be some what of a comedian, but also gains more insight, and can play against the straight laced Jedis. I mean no they don't have to be an exact Han Solo, but someone who can take some pot shots at the other characters. That's what the movies are missing.

I wasn't to thrilled with the love story part, there was no chemistry between Portman and Christian. By the way where did a princess learn to pull a trick like in the last seqences?

Also I wish I could have more on Count Dooku, or they could have expanded the Darth Maul character. I mean, who wouldn't want to have seen Maul pulled out and created a clever and frighting character. He looks like a demon for heavens sake! Dooku is well, Christopher Lee in black waving around a light sword. *I'm shaking* Were not given the reason why he's gone over to the "Dark Side." Or at least that's my view.
