Subject: Customs (Cloneing) or Cyborgs?

A few days ago, I was sitting in the library reading various magazines, and found an article on a glowing bunny. The prospect of a green luminescent rabbit caught my attention, and I continued reading on into the article. Alba, the rabbit that glows florescent green when placed under irregular light, is actually the custom pet of a man who wanted a glowing dog. They made Alba glow by extracting the florescent protein from a jellyfish, and enhancing its effect before implanting it into her bloodstream. Along with this story, I also read that of a cloned cat – would you really clone your pet if given the chance? Imagine having a Lassie or Rin-Tin-Tin of your own? - In my mind, this stirs up the question – would you place so much value on the life of one pet if you could simply get another just like it or genetically modified to be better? (as you may be able to tell, I'm somewhat biased against cloning) Biotechnicians have also developed a pet gene for cats and dogs that make them flea less! (Or something similar)

Next, I moved on to an article about the Verichip, the first computer chip designed to be implanted into a human for medical reasons. The chip is only about the height of a dime, and is implanted into your middle shoulder with a thick needle. But it gives Doctors and others your current health stasis once read by a scanning device. Would you become a Cyborg if given the chance? – Here is the very article I read.

I myself probably would go for neither issue, but I wanted to hear what others thought. So, what are your thoughts on these ethnically controversal measures?
