Michael,

You shouldn't have said Cuba. For when they did become a direct threat to the mainland, we did the same thing. We took a very strong stance until they removed the threat. Invasion was always an option.

Why don't we invade North Korea, China, Syria? They are not the threat Iraq has become. And we haven't played out all our diplomatic options yet.

But we have traded opinions on all those issues before. The difference lies between our opinion of the threat Saddam poses. I feel it is high, you don't. But you still haven't really answered the question. You said:
Liberals don't reflexively oppose Bush. Both in this country and around the world, most supported Bush's war in Afghanistan. Germany, one of our current adversaries, was one of our biggest supporters back then. It is not Bush the man who inspires the opposition, it is primarily Bush's plan that does so.

I have to say that I have seen no evidence to confirm that statement. Please show me where any official Democratic organization has approved of a Bush Administration policy. Or if they oppose his current policy, where they have proposed their own policy.

Richard
