My sincere advice would be for you to direct your efforts in a different direction. For starters, consider taking your son to a developmental optometrist to see if his "dyslexia" includes a binocular vision problem, as is the case for many "dyslexics."

Why? Because the school sounds like they're doing what they can, and you don't want your son shunted onto a special ed or resource room track if you can help it, and because if your son does have the sort of vision issue I suspect, you can treat it with vision therapy and possibly his schoolwork will become much, much easier for him in the future.

You end up happy instead of frustrated, and addressing a problem instead of creating more of them by setting the school against you. Take a look at The Vision Piece of the Dyslexia Puzzle on my website for a lot more information.

I'm not saying you shouldn't advocate for your son in the school, by the way, but they aren't going to address the vision problem that he could very likely have. Check that out first.
