That is so sad. I'm a pretty hard hearted man and that almost brought tears to my eyes.
I wish we were near you, we could probably help. One aspect of our business is a program called 'PACE'. It stands for Processing And Cognitive Skills. It has proved to be incredibly helpful with children that are having learning issues. As far as our dyslexic children, it has shown to be better than most approaches. Right now I am working with 2 boys and 1 girl that have dyslexia. The boys both have additional issues but it has helped both considerably.
Go to their site and maybe there is a provider near you (processingskills.com) but I am doubtful.
Possibly you could come to the states and get trained? It is costly to both get trained and to get services but it does help.
