I feel and know your pain! I have 3 sons with Dyslexia/Dyspraxia/Dyscalculia/ADD and I started home-schooling 14 months ago with 1 son. Now I have 2 at home aged 12,11. 8 year old still at school as I want to give the 11 year old a flying chance of reading for before 3 boys at home. So many years of being wasted in the public system. I used the "Toe by Toe" reading programme, I learnt so much from the book. My 11 year old son the programme doesn't seem to work for him so I'm searching again.
The best thing I have found is my belief in myself as a mother and teacher - this only came when I went Full-time homeschooling. I listened to all the specialist teachers and tried everything they gave us and still I didn't see the results. The schools don't have time or funding for dyslexic children. Be strong and listen to your gut feeling.
