The only way to know for sure if your child is dyslexic is to have an appropriate examination conducted; your school is required by law to provide this service to you. If the testing does in fact confirm that your child is dyslexic, then I can confirm that his early signs are encouraging, even though they may not seem to now.
The fact that your son is above grade level in reading and writing would indicate that he is creating its own solution to his problem. By this very nature your son is creating a resilient attitude towards his school your, which you should encourage.
