My son was diagnosed with a form of dyslexia June last year (Scotopic Sensitiviy Syndrome). The school claimed not to know what to do & finally came back with a modified program (own spelling list). I am constantly requesting additional support for him. I have paid for a tutor since having him diagnosed for hour per week & can see some improvement.
Go with your gut, I've come to believe a mother knows their child & you have to do what you feel is right & keep pushing until it is confirmed one way or the other. Each time I said there was something wrong (speech, dyslexia, hearing & following instructions) I have been right.
