before my now 10yr old was diagnosed i went threw the same frustration. i didnt understand how she couldnt do came so easy to most caused the most difficulty to her.i felt she wasnt either paying attention, and or i couldnt explain anymore plain and simple.from kindergarden to 2nd grade seh attended school here in oklahoma where she was placed in their IEP 504 program to supposivly help.moving to texas who quickly finally gave her the nessesary skills she required, modifing everything to homework, tests, classwork made dramtic improvement. those modifications, had to understand i would have to sit next to her threw all the homework every step.
unfourtently 5th grade we were back in oklahoma who has nothing even 1/2 compared to what she recieved. sadly they dont even test for dyslexia in the school system let alone acknowledge it. my point for rambling since he weas diagnosed does the school not have a program focused on managing it,any modifcations being done? was you informed of being allowed less homework for one haha sorry to laugh but that was the 1st request i made.which i had to be the one to suggest possiable mods b/c they were CLUELESS!her and i made up our own stragity tackling homework.
