I agree with your last statement, the security letters can be very difficult for us dyslexics, due to how we tend to not only get letters confused, but also how we can also dent to transpose, delete and add what is there, or not there.

You mentioned you are an adult and I am guessing you are not a college student. So, as far as getting help, there are not many options. If you have health insurance, you may be able to get them to pay for such assistance.

I don’t know if they would help but there is an origination that is set up by the state here in Texas which is designed to help the disability get the assistance they need. Your state may have something like this. For me they were able to send and pay for a psychologist to diagnose me so I could show proof of my disability to the university. I have never used it any other way, so this is a guess. I believe I had heard part of their job was to help people get jobs. I am guessing this may also includes getting a psychologist to assist you with your difficulties if you use it as an argument that is preventing you to find and keep employment.

You should be able to contact a local college or university to find if there is any such origination in your area as well as any other originations that may be able to assist you with the help you need. I know in my area there is one origination that is designed as recourse just for people with dyslexia.

Beyond that, possible free reading and writing originations in your area so they can at least point out when you flip your letters and numbers, after that you may only be left with doing experiments, trial and error to figure out how to accommodate yourself. One such recourse I used was to go to the area university and look for Psychology courses they were teaching on a subject that may address my disability. Then I would just buy the book on the subject and read it. If you are unsure how to go about this, you may go to or call the psychology and education department and request any suggesting they may have as far as good reading material on the subject and course they teach so you can buy their book and help your self.
