Subject: Medicare - What's the big deal?

This is just a question for everyone to think about. Doc’s spend so much time and energy being concerned with Medicare. But in most practices I have looked at, Medicare only makes up 5% or less of their practice. I do feel it is important that we take care of these patients, but why do we spend so much time and energy for such a relatively small percentage of our practices?
