Hey Jonathan,

The further south you go, the more waterbugs. My mom lived in FL while Dad was in the navy. That's her complaint about Florida..those huge waterbugs.

We live in the southern part of SC, almost in Georgia. The soil is very sandy, and the climate is hot and humid. I've seen waterbugs in NC before but nothing to prepare me for these. One came in from the balcony and I swear it was about the biggest bug I've ever seen. It was huge. I don't even think the cats wanted to tackle it. I started screaming and Scott probably thought something had me...I made him kill it. Another time one came in and Bill was here to kill it for me. Thankfully, in the 9 months I've lived here, only 2 have found their way in. I couldn't face them everyday.
