I doubt that I would fit in with 99.99% of those people out there either. Figuring you said there were 35000, that leaves about 2.5 people. Counting you, that leaves 1.5 persons. I'd really be interested in meeting that 0.5 person.

I don't know the equestrian community other than that they are hobbyists that have usually inherited money through several generations. I might get to know them if I were a horse handler or a veterinarian.

I did get to know one of the TX blue bloods. That was because we were both alcoholics and attended the same meetings. He had one of those platinum blonde trophy wives which drove a new jaguar. He drove something plain throughout the week but pulled out the rolls for the weekends.

As different as our lives were, though, he did seem to be a down to earth person. His dad started the first alcohol treatment program that was industry based because of his sons problem. I guess I did like and admire him but it was for the fact that I could identify with him in some way.

As for highschool life, I pretty much stayed in the background. Didn't like attention and would have been happy to have been just left alone. I didn't have the energy to have lots of friends. My mom said I was the life of the party up until I was about 10 or so. I do remember being more upbeat then as well. Don't know if the proper nuturing could have changed that. But looking at the lives of others that had worse predicaments, I had a pretty life as a teen. I think my expectations of the future were a little too idealistic and I may have become more disappointed, disillusioned and anxiety proned as I tried to take control and change things.

I needed help on the professional level. Counseling was good but antidepressants worked better. At least certain types did. I know there's a stigma with taking pills. I wonder if prozac came as a natural tea herb if it wouldn't be looked on with as much suspicion? Kinda like coffee and caffeine.

I was just thinking, Bill. What would you have thought three years ago that you would be watching a horse race in the deep southeast? I've often wondered what I would've thought as a teen about growing up and traveling across the country tracking radiation fields in a complex and controversial industry. I think it would have excited me to know what I was in store for. Now, I'm having trouble deciding where to go next with this adventure or just let circumstance direct me wherever. Life's still a mystery. I'm still curious about it. And your electric bill is paid up until may the 15!
