I hate being out of work. Doing the subcontractor thing often meant getting a two day layoff notice. But that really meant you were getting laid of today! I don't know the specifics of what you were doing...just know your a creative and bright person that shouldn't be unemployed for long. I got pretty good at job hunting online and might be of help there if you'd like me to try.
