I think I had no clue at all that something was wrong. I was so used to dealing and coping with all my learned techniques that I didn't know I had a problem. I wasn't a real good student. I couldn't remember what I read, but I have a superior IQ. In recent years I did notice that I could read a whole page of something and try hard to remember it, but it was just words, unless it was something that held my interest. If it was something I needed to read but wasn't all that interesting, I'd get to the end of the page and try to remember what it said and I'd draw a blank. If I had to sit through someone speaking about something, unless they were so animated and interesting, I'd find my mind on everything else and not remember anything they said. I had no patience at all for lines, traffic, etc.
When out shopping or in crowds, I'd feel overwhelmed by all the people and couldn't stand it. There are lots of other things too but I didn't know that it wasn't the normal way of reacting because it's all I ever knew. The meds for ADD is helping a lot but nothing is 100% all the time. Still improvement is improvement and I'm happy for it.
