Sorry. I feel I don't understand you. You don't seem like the same person I know. I had a wonderful time with you on the boat the other day. I love life. I want to live. You seem the opposite and down in the dumps. I hope you will change back soon. I want my kids to be happy and desiring to be all they can be and constantly striving for self improvement.

I am not a defeatist. I am an optimist, and always have been. I see the glass as half full, not half empty. I will always be this way. I read a lot of books. I keep up with the news. I look for enjoyment in the simple things in life. I am patriotic. I love nature and natural beauty. I think there is no better place to live than Kentucky.

I am thankful for my heritage. I don't have bad thoughts about my parents - never did. I find plenty of things to do with my time even while retired.

I look forward to every day with interest and enthusiasm. I wish everyone would feel the same as I do about life, especially my children. I also wish my children would be friendly with each other.

I try to set the example, and to seek the high road.

Now if this kind of positive attitude draws you away from me then there is nothing I can say or do to encourage you to realize just how vital and fragile life is. A book I recently read said there are five balls to balance in life: Work, Family, Friends, Relationships, and Integrity. Work is like a rubber ball. If you drop it the ball will bounce back up. But the other four balls are like glass ornaments. If you drop the they will break, and shatter into pieces.

This is the nicest response I have heard from you. I am going to keep this transcript as a reminder to me. I guess you do care after all. Mom triggered some deep stuff in me though. I work damned hard frankly. My boss thinks I am the best employee he's got. He told me that before I went on vacation. I am late a lot but I still get the job done. Greg (my boss) knows this is depression so he has been very patient with me.

Family is a glass ball... and it has been shattered. One thing I have learned. You can smite an enemy and he won't care. But if you smite those closest to you... they will never forget and it will be harder to win them over than if you were to take an entire country. Source: Proverbs.

Jonathan:

Glad that for once I said something nice.
