Parker,
Hello my friend. Good to hear from you. My loyalties to Blackwell extend only as far as necessary to keep Mara from meeting the same fate as my father. I've even offered to sign over the family wealth in an effort to buy her out of his plans and he explained to me that it wasn't the Cypress money he needed but the Cypress name and the political pull that comes with it. I was evidentally supposed to be next in line after my father had over-extended his usefullness. My Embrace blocked those plans, so he moved his interests over to Mara. Another thing I have to thank Sophia for someday.
I will tell you this about Blackwell, though. He's patient and he's smart, and he's a ruthless sunovabitch. And when I put my own personal feelings about him aside, I have to admit that these things make him a very capable leader. Much more so than I ever felt Jan was.
On the subject of your common haven, I think it's a good idea. I would urge you to make it as legitimate as possible. The political pull that Elders have allow them to do nasty things like evict squatters and demolish squatter havens. So make sure you have a legit claim on the location you use. I can deal with a real estate contact of mine if you'd like, but it's probably just as easy for you to do if you have a spot picked out.
Out of curiosity, what's wrong with Cliff's clinic? I seem to remember he had several rooms built in just for these kind of purposes. I also remember finding him decent funding which I haven't seen any commissions on yet.
On your new business endeavors, you know I wanted to get a similar hold in our havens but never had the time to invest. It takes some doing. Might be best for you to go to work for someone first rather than try to muscle in and start running things. I know several dealers from my breathing days. I also have a very limited contact with a gunrunner in Harlem. That one's tenuous at best, but if you go alone you might be able to convince him your capable of handling any wetwork he or his associates need performed. Let me know what areas you're interested in and I will know better what information I can pass on to you.
Sugar was no problem and Max might very well have saved my life while he was here. I've since adopted another watchdog.
E
