Your story about the Intertype C4 you have just acquired was most interesting!
I am involved with the local printing museum (Bedplate Press)in Wellington, N.Z., and we have seven linecasters. You may not be quite correct about the colours: we have a c. 1970 Harris-
Intertype (English) and it is black; also in the collection is a c. 1968 Harris-Intertype (American) and it is grey - so perhaps AMERICAN-built machines were grey after Harris took over the company.
Our other machines are: c.1926 Linotype, model 8; c. 1924
Linotype Model 14; c. 1956 Intertype C4; c. 1960 Linotype
"Comet"; c. 1961 Linotype model 78.
