Subject: 5 schools in Columbus “should” not be attending
In reply to: There has to be at least one 's message, "Which schools aren’t going to be sending dancers to the “Regional Championship” because local COVID restrictions bar them from traveling to Indianapolis?" on 14:28:30 11/18/20 Wed

Franklin County, Ohio is under a 28 day stay at home order and travel ban. Dancers from all 5 of the Columbus schools really should not be attending unless they can/will quarantine for 14 days upon return. Granted, not every dancer that goes to those schools “live” inside the Franklin County boundaries, but it should still apply to them. Along with the school that has locations in both Franklin county and the next county over. Damn Covid. It’s just a hot mess. Ultimately, people will do what they want.

[> [> One of the schools that you’re referring to is not in Franklin County I believe it’s in Delaware County and it’s not a stay at home order it’s a recommendation. Many Franklin county public schools are still in hybrid learning with in person teaching -- No name, 20:59:10 11/18/20 Wed (cpe-98-31-29-38.columbus.res.rr.com/98.31.29.38)

Just look at our entire region. Seven of the states in our region were listed on a travel advisory for our state because of high positivity rates. Everyone has to make the choice for their own family, but it's a scary time out there and maybe time to re-evaluate priorities. I do wish the leadership would step up, be more decisive and set an example for the dance families. Good leadership doesn't mean always making popular decisions.
