Subject: In or out? Just a quick survey. What age group and whether you are a go or no to for O? No bashing, judgement, etc. Just UX and going or not going.

U12, we are out. Just cannot fathom attending when numbers everywhere are spiking more than in the spring. Too many chances for exposure in the venue and hotel. Add to that the 14-day return quarantine from school and work, plus testing. Too many risks for a feis. Hopefully next year.

the event is just one aspect, you have to think about the actual travel, the hotels, eating, etc.

I thought the organizers had to guarantee a certain amount of room reservations in order to get the lower rates?

My U17 and most of dance school still plan to attend as of today. I’m leaning strongly toward no and will wait until Monday to make the call. My dancer is very aware of the danger and yet seems more concerned about self. That concerns me as well. My dancer is more bothered by the murder in the JW Marriott early Saturday morning.

IMHO - it should be canceled/postponed. Keep my money. I’ll pay again in the spring. Mid-America Committee—do the right thing or you may have an empty convention center.

Family has to quarantine because of member testing positive, so we are out, unfortunately. So difficult.

Mom is MD working with COVID patients. Best (dance!) friend is COVID ICU nurse. Both have expressed frustration at how people are not taking the virus seriously. Out of respect for our healthcare workers, I will not be attending.

Even the hotel did a good job when we first arrived. HOWEVER, a lot was left to be desired when we left the hotel. People were crowding lines to get into restaurants, etc. They were wearing masks, but there was no way to social-distance while heading to the parking garage. The committee couldn't control that. If anything about this event becomes a super-spreader, it will be the hotel not doing more to control the crowds. The restaurants and bars should have been for pick-up and room-service only.
