Subject: I think this event was so well done! I don’t see it as a super spreader event. The hotel, at least the one we’re at, on the other hand: crowded, lots of gathering and socializing,
In reply to: 's message, "For those that attended today, how did you feel it went? Safe? Protocols being met? Anything to watch out for?" on 19:41:54 11/26/20 Thu

The convention center didn’t allow for any gathering, congregating in the hallways. They wanted constant movement. The halls are extremely spacious and the seating areas are nicely spaced apart. I think most people stayed to their squares. I think most everyone wore their masks appropriately. It definitely felt controlled and everyone involved in policing the Covid policies did a great job! A few takeaways:

The halls were clean! People actually threw away their garbage!!! I hope people continue to do this when things go back to normal because it always looked horrendous and I always felt so bad for the cleaning staff.

Having significantly less people made a world of difference. I love teams, but not having teams made this event possible. Teams brings in so many people.

I hope they will continue to have the livestream in the future! This is definitely one of the best outcomes of this year’s event! With the livestream, you can stay in your hall and watch your friends in a different hall instead of going there. Plus, family, friends, dance teachers, etc can watch from home!

I liked parking at one stage all day and each stage having its own awards ceremony. You can watch awards from the different stages with the livestream. It’s obviously not the same as a big awards party.

I wish they played Christmas music while waiting for awards!

[> [> The thing is, the committee can plan a sterile event for the most part but bringing that many people together in hotels etc. and think they won’t be socializing, non-social distancing etc. is naive at best. Even on IDM pcs it shows kids posing together no masks different schools. -- ., 00:12:27 11/29/20 Sun (NoHost/172.58.62.252)

[> [> [> I love how you think it’s not a super spreader in the Convention Center, but it is in the hotel. Ummmm ... they’re he same people in the hotel bringing it to the Convention Center. It’s a virus. -- Good lord, 18:09:04 11/29/20 Sun (d47-69-246-75.try.wideopenwest.com/69.47.75.246)

[> [> [> [> You sure are making huge assumptions to my post. Said only that no matter what the committee did for a safe environment, the bringing together of that many people will, no doubt be a super spreader. What did they think people would do when not dancing? -- ., 21:54:33 11/29/20 Sun (NoHost/172.58.62.252)
