Glad to hear that your troubleshooting and repair was successful. The cable connectors are rather wimpy, so I wonder if the green cable was at fault, or had the contacts oxidized and replacing the cable "scratched" through the oxidation? It's amazing how many things go wrong after 25-30 years!
