I have a 1928 Fischer grand piano fitted with a Pianocorder system and play it from a nearby laptop containing about 4,000 midi files from piano rolls that I have scanned and converted. See: http://www.mts.net/~smythe/pianocorder.htm I started with such an adapter, quite inexpensive and routinely available everywhere. However, I recently acquired a direct connect device from Mark Fontana and have been able to do away completely with the cassette drive. Some web sites of interest: http://dp70.dyndns.org/ Mark's web site http://dp70.dyndns.org/pianocorder/ Pianocorder Resources http://members.shaw.ca/smythe/rebirth.htm Player Piano Rebirth http://members.shaw.ca/smythe/archive.htm My archive of Player Piano Music Rolls as midi Hope all this helps a little.
