Date Posted: 11:55:22 11/25/02 Mon A number of years ago I installed a Z-tronics organ-to-PianoCorder adapter board in a friend's instrument. This adapter creates a signal identical to the one from the tape deck so that a simple SPDT switch selects organ or tape as the source of information for the playback circuitry. When I needed something similar for my own pipe organ, I used the Z-tronics design as a starting point and built a unit which appears as an 85-note unit pipe organ "rank" at 16-, 8- and 4-foot pitch, although only 80 notes from bottom C through top G can be played. To get the 16' C, I also switch the top G# solenoid driver to a new solenoid for bottom C. (It is not necessary nor possible to provide seperate Bass-Treble expression signals from an organ keyboard, so identical values are sent from the organ expression pedal to each half of the playback board's circuitry.) If anyone is interested in the details, I'll be happy to provide further information. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
