Date Posted: 01:29:08 04/04/04 Sun Signal Loss Due To Defective CD-Tape Adapter. I have been having from small, almost imperceptible loss of sync to major signal instability which had gotten a lot worse the last couple of days. Using two computers and 4 different programs, the common factor to the sync loss seemed to be tape cassette adapter. This is a Radio Shack item I purchased new about 4 years ago for the Pianocorder. Now I realize, it has been the source of ongoing problems and has never worked 100%. I replaced the head in the adapter with an old single channel head scavenged out of an old answering machine. (Never throw anything away). Removed the capacitors, which allow a more middle range volume setting for the computer sound card controls. Bridged the unused channel with a 1K resistor. This is one more area to check out if you are having signal stability issues. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
