Hi Dave,

Looks like you have narrowed it down to a problem on the playback board. Could it be as simple as the bass expression pot being turned all the way down?

This would account for all notes from E above middle C on down, not playing.

On the "left" side of the playback board (the end where the 3 cables for the driver boards connect), the first pot is for the bass expression, the second for treble expression. Make sure the bass pot is set at least as high as the treble. Usually they will be set close to 12 o'clock (mid position - arrow pointing straight out from the board). Usually not higher than 1 o'clock.

If that is not the problem, since you have narrowed it down to the playback board, I recommend that you contact Carl Meyer and see what it would cost to have him repair your board or replace it with a good used one.
