Date Posted: 19:28:03 08/10/04 Tue I have a problem with my treble driver board. While performing a system tuning/tweaking and using test track #1, when the 5 notes struck the 66th note (#18 circuit of the treble board -18th from the left, 2nd from the left of the 2nd grouping) sparked, smoked, and glowed red! Of course I unplugged the unit immediately. It looked as if the transistor (r18) was melted. Nothing else on the board looked dark, smoked, fried. So, I removed the melted resistor and replaced it with a new one. Nothing else looks amiss, but when I re-installed the board, this time as soon as power was applied the note struck and stayed on, and it glowed red again and smoked. R18 looks melted again, but no other indications of a problem. The Bass and Middle driver board and solenoids work fine. I have left the treble board out for now. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Is it the entire board that is ruined, or can I work on circuit 18? Any suggestions/troubleshooting advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
