Date Posted: 14:33:33 03/13/02 Wed Hi All: I had a question about the mounting of the tape deck unit for the Pianocorder. The installation manual shows the tape deck mounted below the keybed on a "swing-out" bracket. However, I have seen an installation where the tape deck was remotely located (on a bookshelf), with a long cable running to the piano. What I am unclear about is the location of the power switch in this format. My tape deck has the power switch located in a housing attached to the tape deck itself, but the power switch in the "remote" format was not part of the tape deck assembly. Was there an option for original installations to put the tape deck on the end of a long cable, and a power switch on the piano itself? (It would certainly look more attractive than the ugly tape deck screwed to the piano). Also, this piano had a plaque on it that said "Pianocorder, by Yamaha." Would this have been installed in the brief period where Yamaha owned the P'corder system, but hadn't yet killed it for the Disclavier? Just curious...
