Remove the tape deck/caddy unit from the system by unplugging the switch cable from the power supply and tape deck cable from the playback board. Easy does it. Flip the caddy over and remove the four screws under the tape deck. Remove deck by threading the tape deck cable through the hole in the caddy. You will need to make up a cable of suitable length for the tape deck location. You can probably find something suitable at your local electronics supply store or Radio Shack. You need a cable of at least 11 conductors. The power switch if located at the piano can be left in the caddy. If you do not wish to retain the caddy, you will have make a new mounting enclosure for the switch as the switch enclosure on the caddy is part of the caddy body. Of course, if you are sure you will have no further use for the caddy, you could chop it down and retain the switch enclosure. whatever works.... Tom Lear San Francisco, Ca.
