Purchase a pack of Maxell UR 90 cassette tapes. These are regular inexpensive , but good quality cassettes. A buck apiece or less.

If the QRS cassettes are glued together rather than screwed, carefully break the QRS cassette apart.

Remove the five screws from a Maxell cassette, carefully lift off the cover. Notice how the tape threads around the rollers and across the pressure pad. Lift the Maxell tape with its spools out of the cassette. Lift the tape and spools from the QRS and place into the Maxell cassette shell, being careful that the tape path is correct. Replace the cover, do not overtighten screws.

If the QRS cassette has screws and you want to try to keep the original shell:

Remove the five screws. Lift the tape/spools out as a unit. Check the two rollers on each side of the front of the cassette. You may find that one or both are frozen on their axles. If so, replace with new rollers from one of the Maxell cassettes. Check the pressure pad. Reglue if loose or replace the spring and pad with a new Maxell.
Tweezer are a great help to do this.

Another approach: If the QRS cassette has screws and the 2 front rollers are ok, you can try this... Loosen the five screws about 1/2 turn gently rap the cassette on a hard surface. See if it will play...

In any event, I would recommend once you get a cassette to work properly, immediatly rerecord the tape using a double cassette deck or two decks. The Maxell UR's are fine for this. Keep the original as a master and use only the newly recorded tape.
