Pianocorder antedates MIDI, so the simple answer is No.

The cassette player converts an audio signal from tape to a pulse train (+12 and O VDC) for decoding by the playback board.

Mark Fontana's software outputs an audio signal that is identical to the one coming from a tape. It's trivial to convert that to the train of pulses needed by the playback board.
