Paul, there was an external push-up Vorsetzer model of Pianocorder that is ideal for this application. They were less common than the built-in model but can still be found. You could drive it using specially-encoded files on an MP3 player set to endless loop... can't get any easier than that. A fellow named Tom Lear has also been successful in building a Pianocorder into a Dynavoice case.
