You're not blathering, you make perfect sense to me.

Also deeply wired into the human organism is the need for meaningful connection with others, along with a whole lot of evolutionarily-instilled (whee! I just made up a word!) group-relations behavior.

You can try to intellectualize, rationalize, or desensitize these things away that have such pull on our very neurotransmitters, but you'll only twist yourself into something less than human if you succeed.

Like a serial killer. Or a corporate television exec...oh, sorry, gotta get past that ZIM thing.

So: experience whatever you can, it's the only way you live!
